Language Evaluator
Using the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines, the language evaluator assesses the proficiency level of missionaries and teacher applicants in the target language. These ratings are then reported to the Language Evaluation Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Assess the language abilities of missionaries (pre-MTC and in-residence) and teacher/actor applicants.
Report language ratings to the Language Evaluation Supervisor through appropriate channels.
Participate in regular individual trainings in order to improve intra-rater reliability, evaluation skills and accuracy.
Participate in regular group trainings in order to improve interrater reliability and accuracy.
Support an effort to build and maintain an environment of increased harmony, trust, and good will within the department and the MTC.
Perform secretarial and clerical tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Advanced level or greater proficiency in target language
Able to work independently
Confident working under minimal supervision
Excellent with public relations and communication skills
Able to prioritize and organize
Required to keep sensitive information confidential and work in a professional manner
Responsive and communicative in a timely manner
Must possess and maintain a current temple recommend
