Intellectual Property Specialists

Responsibilities:

• Create and/or review intellectual property reports necessary to obtain intellectual property rights for MTC products and other media throughout the MTC

• Understand intellectual property guidelines, rules, and directions from the Church’s Intellectual Reserve Inc.

• Work closely with paralegals in the Church’s Intellectual Property Office concerning MTC products and needs

• Work closely with MTC personnel to gather necessary requirements to obtain intellectual property rights for MTC products

• Understand the Church’s Visual Style guide and work closely with the Visual Identity Office to make sure all MTC products meet set guidelines.

• Work closely with Correlation Evaluation to ensure MTC products meet given standards

• Complete necessary auditing procedures for MTC projects

• Work closely with HR, Technology, and other MTC and Church departments to meet MTC needs

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

• Organized, detail-oriented, creative, proactive, professional, and able to work under pressure

• Superior interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

• Experience gathering information to write clear summaries and giving presentations to share findings

• Excellent record-keeping and able to organize files for quick access

• Ability to understand complex guidelines and legal obligations concerning intellectual property

• Ability to work under pressure

• Ability to rapidly learn new software applications

• Ability to work well with or without supervision

• Ability to work on one project for an extended amount of time

• Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel

• Willing to learn and a desire to help missionary work progress throughout the world

Preferred

• Knowledge of MTC processes and policies
