Language Curriculum Specialists
Work on a design team contributing to a variety of curriculum projects, ranging from new media to curriculum text and activities. Specialists ensure the development and growth of new missionaries, through curriculum development and educational advancements.
Specialists support the organization and coordination of department operations, procedures, and resources to support curriculum pilots and projects and facilitate organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Curriculum Manager help to create, modify and improve curriculum resources (lessons, scripts, instructional approaches, activities, a/v recordings, etc.) for missionaries and teachers
Analyze and evaluate curriculum materials and provide insight and feedback to create new or refine existing resources
Help coordinate pilot needs across departments and participate in the testing
Schedule meetings and conference rooms and take notes
Mange pilot and project logistics (i.e., scheduling TRC visits, following up on schedule adjustments, tracking action items, etc.)
Perform formative and summative evaluation of learning experiences and products
Develop tools to help gather data on the impact of pilot efforts and to help track our effectiveness and efficiency
Prepare and participate in focus groups, as a facilitator and/or note taker, and synthesize key takeaways
Track and maintain data for pilots and projects, which may include data entry, filing, copying, scanning, and creating and managing spreadsheets
Teach and/or train pilot participants (missionaries, teachers and others) on curriculum approaches and accompanying resources
Communicate regularly with Curriculum Managers
Minimum Qualifications:
Detail-oriented, creative, analytical, able to work well with ambiguity, and under pressure
Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Proactive and able to manage multiple complex assignments simultaneously, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Work effectively in a team-related environment, with or without supervision and with others from across MTC departments
High aptitude for experience learning, and successfully using new software applications
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to cooperate, and to give and accept feedback from others
Willingness to give and follow directions
Willingness to receive training from MTC Curriculum Managers and Training Managers
Capable of leading small teams, under the direction of the Curriculum Manager
Very knowledgeable of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and GoogleDocs (Word and Excel)
Some training or experience in video editing
